This book introduces the student to the instrument in the most practical way while making it fun, and it has the student reading music from the beginning, which I find very important. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I have taught violin and piano for the past 25 years to students age 4 and up. At Rowan University, I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education.   I have performed with Bridgeton Symphony, Rowan University Orchestra, Lansing Symphony in Michigan and the Goodnight string quartet.   My teachers have included Bertram Greenspan-Rowan University, I-Fu Wang-Michigan State University and Nancy Jan-Bay-Atlantic Symphony.  Currently, I play violin with the Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey. I enjoy performing in a string quartet for weddings and also chamber ensembles for various events in the area.
