Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. My goal for each and every student is for them to become proficient enough on their instrument that they can enjoy it for the rest of their lives. This can be achieved through lessons and regular practice. Those who practice regularly tend to be more successful and progress at a faster rate. I encourage older school age students to participate in school orchestra and those who are excelling in their instruments to audition for local youth orchestras. Read More

My passion for teaching has been a big part of my career. I have been teaching violin since 2011- providing individual and group instrumental lessons in music schools and serving as an adjunct faculty (Artist-in-Residence position) of performance studies (solo and chamber) at Boyer College of Music and Dance, Temple University. I ask my students to keep practice journals, so I always begin with reading their journals and asking questions or making observations about it. Read More

Beginner Violin/Viola/Cello/Double Bass- I typically start in a class method book like essential elements or something similar, and move out of that book into etude books with music that pairs well with them, before moving onto things that are more student chosen once they can play well enough to play things that they like. Beginner Piano- I use the Leila Fletcher books because they are set up at a good pace, and work through those, adding in music that a student wants to learn as we go. Read More

In all of my teaching, I combine my students' interests with the leading pedagogy practices in string education to develop the foundational skills of the instrument as well as a fondness for it. There are several method books that I use such as Suzuki, Schroeder's Cello Etudes, and Fiddler's Philharmonic, however, I tailor each lesson path to each student based on student interest as well as proper sequencing. I generally start with these method books, especially for cello, for beginning students. Read More
