I don't have just ONE method...because every student has different likes, and different goals, they need personalized lessons. Some enjoy music theory, others prefer to just learn a more basic approach. Since I learned formally (in school/lessons) and informally (by ear, self-taught and playing onstage), I can give students whichever method suits their goals, with as much or as little theory as they are comfortable with. When I begin with a new student, I generally jam and analyze my student's abilities, skill level, techniques and interests/desires in music styles. When I have a good idea about my student's ability and skill level, we begin with focusing on what needs to be improved. For beginner children, I like to focus on the fundamentals and keep interest with keeping things creative, exciting and fun!
