I have 18 years of experience in the Music and Education. My time has been combined and/or divided between performance, classroom instructing, supervision and project management. Upon graduation from Central State University I continued to study with the professors there to gain more musical knowledge. I have received credit in over 170 music classes. My methods vary student to student- we all learn differently and my objective is to find what works, wether it be a quick demonstration, or a complete breakdown right to the fundamentals. No student is too slow nor incapable. One of the things I really keep my eye on is technique- nothing is more detrimental to a student's progress than poor technique and adaptation! I am a passionate instructor who offers lessons which are both informative and fun. In 2013 I graduated from the University of Mary Washington with a degree in music and a focus in guitar. While in school I developed a love of teaching, as I taught a few of my peers. I also performed in my university's guitar ensemble where I learned to play in a group format. Personalizing lesson plans and objectives in this way is extremely empowering to the student and promotes more devotion of time to learning outside of the lessons.
