In 2011, Chuck moved to Portland, Oregon from Gainesville, Florida, where he was a staple of the music teaching and performing community for more than 25 years. Originally from Chicago, Chuck completed his BA in Music History and a Masters of Music (MM) at the University of Florida. I always make sure I give the right amount of work each week to my students to stay busy and to grow on their instrument. When I was four years old, I sat down at the piano for the first time. The first time I pressed a key, I knew that I had a passion for music that would span my lifetime. A few years later, I took up flute and violin and joined local ensembles. I have traveled around the west coast performing classical, jazz, pop, and folk music.
