I encourage my students to be technically proficient, musically literate, and good listeners. Having these core fundamentals down prepares my students to be able to play any style of music they choose. I have been a K-12 teacher at Lake County School District #7 in Oregon. I graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Master's Degree in Music Education at The University of Akron. I studied Clarinet as my main instrument, then piano, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and more. Some of the method books I've used include the Faber "Piano Adventures" series, Alfred and Bastien series, and Hanon's The Virtuoso Pianist, among others.
