My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I take all of my students through the leveled piano curriculum, whether it would be Faber and Faber Piano Adventures or Alfred Piano. My adult students I take through the adult method books. I am very patient with my students. I stay positive and encourage their improvements. I review material that they are having trouble with and encourage them to keep trying. I make sure they are progressing in their book at a pace that works for them so they will continue to learn but not get overwhelmed.
