I love teaching music and am very excited to have the chance to teach new students in the Tulsa area. I grew up in Broken Arrow where I was a member of the Pride playing flute and piccolo. I also was in the Tulsa Youth Symphony and All State Orchestra. I am very happy to be back in the Tulsa area. Each lesson they take home a blank staff paper in which they write specific notes and rhythm patterns on during the week. They learn to write and read their music very well, and it is fun to do. They of course are rewarded at their lesson for bringing back their papers. I have just started opening up to the whole new world of music out there on you tube. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument.
