I find great satisfaction and enjoyment working with music students of all ages and ability levels. The reward comes from seeing the development of a student to the point where they are accomplishing wonderful things with their musical ability. I graduated from BYU in 1989, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education. I have been fortunate to perform with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Minnesota Mormon Chorale. I taught band in New York, specializing in woodwinds and began teaching private lessons during the summer breaks. I also was an adjudicator in New York state for the Solo and Ensemble contests held throughout the state. I have taught ages 4 through adults and have a great deal of experience teaching special needs students both in the classroom and in private lessons. Having recently moved to the Tulsa area, I am trying to build up my private students because I love teaching them, getting to know the students, sharing my love and knowledge of music, and watching them grow in their skills and love of music. I started teaching private piano lessons back in 2002. Although, I have been teaching in some form since I was 15 years old. When I graduated from high school I started teaching music in a preschool. I found this to be so much fun. I taught young students rhythm using different instruments. I still today focus on the different rhythm patterns in music when learning a new song.
