I push students to set their own goals, to make practicing routine and intentional. We talk about ways to practice, tools to use, and how to accomplish what they are hoping to do. For beginning students who are ages 8-13 will first use the Standard of Excellence red book and then they will transfer to the blue book. Intermediate and Advance will use the Foundations for superior performance book. We will start to pick solos that they are able to play and work on them. My teaching experience started when I became a choir Director in my church in 2000,I love to teach different harmonies for different vocal ranges plus I will teach them with the solfa notations which is the music notes.i remember some of the choristers where tone deaf but I always love to take it slow and steady with them eventually they all got better and I was fulfilled.its always fun and conducive in my classes because I always make it look easy and not stressful.i always tell my students that the only way you can be better is daily practice and dedication. This success inspired me to start my own trumpet studio. After I graduated high shool, I attended Las Positas Community College to further pursue my education in the musical realm. I quickly adapted to the new environment where, once again, I was a featured soloist in the band and choir programs.
