I am a dedicated violin instructor who enjoys teaching and working with students so they can achieve their highest goals. I recently graduated from Andrews University in 2014 with a Master's of Arts degree in Violin. I enjoy not only performing as a soloist but I have played in both my undergraduate college orchestra as well as Andrews University Symphony Orchestra during my Master's study. For beginning students I always begin with a methods book, I believe that good fundamentals are what makes a good musician, but I also teach ear training methods thereby giving the student the best in both worlds. Once the fundamentals and foundation are efficient, then according to the instrument I move to solo repertoire or experimentation or interpretation. I started playing violin when I was 7. I've been with Musika since 2011 (while I was in college). I have experience teaching Suzuki method (violin) from young age kids to old students. I also have been teaching Suzuki Method (K-12) strings at a local arts school and also at a Korean community center. I am currently teaching music subject at school as well. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern pop music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the violin and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More

I as the teacher provide the knowledge and guidance for your child, and you as the parent/caretaker create the enriching home environment by helping your child practice and listen to recordings. My students learn to play by ear before reading music, but I implement note-reading early on so that they can also learn to sightread proficiently. I have been teaching students for over 10 years. In addition to piano, guitar, violin, and double bass private lessons, I have also taught group lessons. I taught a group piano lab for 5th graders. I taught group guitar lessons to camp students.
