I am a working musician, traveling singer-songwriter, and long-time educator. While at school I focused my education on music and the music industry and building my career as a singer-songwriter. As much as I love to create and share my own music I'm also passionate about teaching others to do the same. I've taught lessons throughout college covering a range of instruments and ages. Music is fun. The only reason to start learning an instrument is so you can have fun while learning, because you never stop learning. While I have certain processes while teaching, lessons will be tailored to the student. We will make sure to take note of progress so the student can see where they were when they started compared to what they can do now. I will use a lot of practical examples so the student can see the principles we are learning and practicing being used in a live situation, i.e. other professional musician performances on video and/or audio. I began helping my friends work through their music when I was 19 at Missouri Western State University, and eventually cultivated a bustling studio of students through word of mouth. I now teach full time in Zoom and in person with house visits, or at my home studio. For each student, it is important for them to learn at their own pace and not struggle if they get stuck o r confused on certain topics. All lessons will have goals set for the students.
