Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. My teaching experience includes teaching full bands at the junior high level as well as beginner percussion students. I have also taught private lessons in my personal studio for both beginner and intermediate levels. I love to inspire my students to practice as much as they can, but consistency and structure is the most important thing. I prefer to build the foundation of knowledge on how and why something works. I usually begin with some basic theory and then show various techniques from popular works and how this can be applied to original compositions. I also like to employ ear training exercises and sight reading exercises to help with the intellectual side of music and to help any current students in a “band” or Music scholastic program. In 2017, I graduated from Missouri State University with a BME (Bachelor of Music Education) with an emphasis in percussion. Throughout my time in my undergrad, I have been a part of renowned groups such as Dr. Belva Prather Wind Ensemble and Mr. Jerry Hoovers Pride Band organization. Other groups I have performed with include world famous Michael Burritt in his ensemble in 2015 Missouri Day of Percussion. I believe in a student learning to hear music and think for themselves. Through ear training, creativity, and learning "how" music works, the goal is to get each student to not need a teacher to learn their instrument, but want a teacher so they may become their best version of it.
