My teaching experience dates back to 2013, where I first began tutoring local junior high students for the summer band program. I have been teaching private lessons and studying how to be a better educator ever since. My private home studio has been running for over 3 years now. In private lessons I incorporate a complex combination of music theory, ear training, popular music, and classical! At the end of every lesson I take detailed notes on the students progress, and always check in to make sure we are playing something they want to learn! Read More

I am passionate about my students and about music. From the outset of working with music students I emphasize the importance of good posture and handling of their instrument, good breathing technique, good embouchure, and regular practice in order to develop strong embouchure and technique and knowledge of their instrument. I love teaching! Whether it is music, dance, math, or anything else I may find myself teaching, I give my all to my students. Read More

When I start out with a new student I like to see what kind of learning works best for them. Are they a visual, audio or tactical learner? from there I modify each lesson for each individual student. I make sure my lessons are a very positive experience with no criticism. I teach with charts, tablature and standard notation. My primary method of teaching is to have my students study from my own books, in addition to publications by Mel Bay and Hal Leonard. Read More

For ukulele, I start with learning basic chords and learning to play easy songs For guitar, I follow the Guitar for Kids book to learn basic chords and notes, then move towards sight playing, and playing songs with different strumming patterns.
