I am an instructor whose own passion and personal relationship with music allows for a one-of-a-kind student-teacher experience. I attended Loyola University New Orleans as a Jazz Studies major from 2008-2011, taking a 3 year sabbatical to perform and tour with the two bands I co-founded. Both of these groups commanded a prolific performance load in and around the greater New Orleans area and surrounding cities and states. In 2017, after returning to Loyola, I became the premiere graduate of the new Bachelor of Science in Popular and Commercial Music program, where I received my knowledge of the business side of the music industry, all the while never ceasing my musical performance. For beginning students, I use the Standard of Excellence book 1 by Bruce Pearson. For intermediate students, I use the Standard of Excellence book 2, and for the advanced students, I use the Standard of Excellence book 3. I introduce solo repertoire to the middle and advanced students. I will find what will suite the students. Initially self-taught on the piano, I had my first experience with lessons on the organ thanks to the charity of Dr. Marcus St. Julien, and I want to pass that spirit of mentoring on to every student I meet.
