My teaching experience dates back to my high school days in Hong Kong, as I began teaching violin private lessons part time 14 years ago, and had been consistently teaching students in my home studio and a local music center for 8 years before I moved to the United States in 2012. In 2012-2014, I was hired as a violinist of the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Because all students have a unique style of mearning, at any age, I usually choose music that fits the student's ability at that time. If a student has a special request to learn a certain song, we discuss if it will be appropriate for them, or if they have to work up to that level. In these lessons we would cover fundamentals, warm-ups, theory, classic literature, etudes, and any fun songs that they wanted! That being said, goals that we set are to be realistic and achievable. Difficult enough to keep them interested but easy enough to keep them from giving up. With each lesson we will discuss both goals and expectations. I am originally from Los Angeles, California and after completing my bachelors in San Fransico I moved to Wichita to earn two  master's degrees from WSU. I am a composer and pianist who has had their music played by many musiciains ranging from student to professional. I have also played piano with the Wichita State University Wind Ensemble.  I am extremely passionate about music and I think it is important for people of all ages to learn how to play music and appreciate the small details that bring music to life.
