My experience with doing private lessons started when my last year at Bethune Cookman to earn a little extra cash in my pocket. I started out teaching beginning elementary students which sharpened up my skills for basic knowledge of the saxophone. As time progressed I started to teach intermediate student so that they can develop the tone and basic technique. Learning a musical instrument should always be a very rewarding and satisfying experience.  Therefore, I have a large variety of techniques in my musical bag of tricks to challenge all types of learners.  During my 10 years as a full time band director, I have developed many musical "games", often based on Suzuki methods, to make learning fundamentals, scales, and repertoire much more enjoyable.  These include practice rewards, Band Olympics, ninja karate belts, and Harry Potter themed games. Once that is done, I am then able to recommend the appropriate materials that work best for the student.
