I have learned that when a student practices a mistake over and over it remains a mistake. I immediately slow the student down and concentrate on just a measure or even two notes to accomplish correct rhythm, fingerings, articulations and phrasing.   This depends on the student.  I am an easy going teacher.  I don't believe in applying pressure.  It is my job to get to know the student and find positive ways to help them develop their musical skills. I try to tailor the lesson to meet the students needs.
