My teaching experience began in Webster, South Dakota as their high school band director for 11 years. I was then invited to move back to my college town of Brookings, South Dakota to be their middle school band director. I moved to Sioux Falls and taught in the Catholic School System for a number of years. My love of teaching begins years ago from being a beginner student and helping my peers understand their instruments. In high school I was a section leader in marching and concert band for two years, leading sectional rehearsals and helping students one-on-one. Many of my peers started coming to me for costructive criticism and I would help them in a private lessons setting. In conjunction with my college music degree, I had the opportunity to preform on stage with some of the greatest names in blues music including Big Luther Kent, Sundanze, Tabby Thomas, Jo Monk, Boogie Long, and on, and on.
