I have a Masters degree in music composition from the University of Memphis with a minor in music theory. I also have a bachelors degree in music composition from Texas A&M at Commerce Texas with a minor in piano. Since graduating from college i have been conducting after school music programs for many local schools as well as teaching private lessons from my music studio. For beginning students, I teach the Rubank Method. For intermediate and advanced students, I teach the Frost School Jazz Method. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I teach according to each students learning ability and I also love to challenge my students to help with their daily practice time. Depending on the level of advancement , we will determine the materials that is needed for each lesson. If its a beginner they will start on the basic learnings and fundamentals of music to help them better understand the lesson. I like Faber and Faber piano adventures because they teach a lot like I do. I've been developing a power point and You Tube presentation to go along with the book for those students who need more visual stimulus. I like various curruiculum's with Trumpet and Brass players.
