Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For Beginning students, I start them off with scales Major and minor and 101 Rhythmic Rest Patterns by Grover C. Yaus, which expanded into pieces related to their key. If the student is interested, I can write a piece to play involving everything they learned. And advanced students I usually use: Selected Studies by H. My teaching experience began as an undergraduate student 9 years ago with a private saxophone studio. I have also taught beginning to intermediate piano, clarinet, and oboe lessons. Additionally, I was recently hired as the adjunct professor for woodwind instruction at my local community college. I expect my students to practice regularly as this helps students to solidify skills and techniques taught during lessons. I started teaching private lessons my senior year in high school. Once I went to music school, i started to refine my teaching technique, and have been teaching privately for the past 25 years. Regularity and time management is key to my student's success. I like to draw on classical repertoire outside of the standard clarinet and saxophone repertoire to allow my students a well rounded classical experience. Students who want to focus on jazz studies can also learn a great deal from studying baroque music and ornamentation, and I like to offer a broad perspective to people eager to learn. Read More
