Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Piano, Voice, Saxophone
For beginning students, I teach the Rubank Method. For intermediate and advanced students, I teach the Frost School Jazz Method. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I create engaging lesson plans based on my students interests, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons fulfilling and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone
While I find most beginning band method books to be effective, I often integrate exercises from saxophone-specific texts, such as: Larry Teal's Saxophonists Workbooks, Rubank Method books of all levels, and for more advanced students Rascher's Top Tones and Londeix's Le Detache. I possess a wide knowledge of repertoire across genres, and cater to students' individual interests. While I foster technical development, I place my main emphasis on the students' enjoyment of the music they are performing, and believe that at every age and skill level one can perform confidently given the appropriate repertoire. I love watching my students develop a love of playing music. It's so much fun to learn to play and perform. I encourage hard work and preparation for recitals and concerts. I teach students how to teach themselves by use of recording themselves and to learn how to ask themselves questions and observations to make maximum progress. I personalize my lessons to the goals of the students. If a student wants to learn the "Star Wars Theme", then we work on that as well as working through their lesson books. Read More

Before I sit down to teach a student for their first lesson, I try and plan on what they aspire to learn either through a classical or jazz path and move to get into the details of everything. My goal is to make sure the students enjoy what they play and work on what they want to do. I make sure to stress the importance of improving and encouraging them every step of the way. Read More

Learning needs to be fun, pure and simple. Gone are the days of the dictatorial martinet. The main purpose of music lessons is so that people can learn to enjoy playing their instrument. "Nothing succeeds like success": this is as true in music as it is anywhere else. Students have a need to express themselves musically, and it is the job of the teacher to show the student how that may be done. Read More
