My teaching experience began in college as I began to help teach some of my peers that were interested in taking up saxophone as a hobby. I realized immediately that I had a passion for connecting people to their passion for music and wanted to continue doing that. I eventually began to teach outside of school in the homes of interested students in the Washington, D.C. area. I started my education career at "Kumon of Bowie Math and Reading Center," a tutoring center created to emphasis one-on-one assistance for students in need. For beginning students who are children, I usually start with a songbook, such as the Accent on Achievement method book. Once the student has a grasp on the fundamentals, I begin to introduce solo repertoire. For adult students, I try to find out what the student is interested in pursuing, and then if they are a beginner, I teach fundamentals through the Rubank method books and supplement with songs that are approapriate to the student's taste. I have been teaching private lessons since 2011, during my time in college. I have taught a wide range of insturments ranging from woodwinds like clarinet and flute to brass insturments like trumpet and baritone.
