My teaching experience started 7yrs ago doing part time lessons at church. I started teaching members of the church as well as musicians who wanted to learn certain songs. During those times of lessons, I encouraged each student to consistently practice at least 30min a day. I also tried to relate each lesson to a song of their choice to show them certain ways to apply basic theory. I have also spent many semesters tutoring Music Theory to my peers. I work to create a supportive environment for my students that help them to grow as musicians technically and expressively. I just recently graduated from the University of Alabama in early May with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance. I have been studying piano for almost twelve years. I use two pianos side to side, in order to demonstrate proper technique, and to be able to play together to improvise, and or mimic.
