For beginning students, I like to start with some starting note learning drills on paper or going through some beginner books. I am a firm believer in that the more a student practices reading music, the easier it will come. I realize that some students learn music better by ear, and I will work to develop that skill alongside the essentials of reading the music on paper. As they progress, I hope to introduce different kinds of solo music in order to teach different skills and techniques that are involved, while still keeping the music fun and accomplishing the goals that the student wants to accomplish. I have been teaching Piano for more than 7 years now. I have work with students as young as six years and as old as eighty-nine. I enjoy working with people of every level, I am passionate about teaching and helping others enjoy music. I started teaching piano back in my home country, Honduras, in the Escuela de Musica Victoriano Lopez. I have taught private one on one lessons to children ranging from first grade, to seniors in their 70's and 80's. I have tremendous patience, and an ability to make every lesson a positive learning experience, which will have the student running home to their instrument to practice, and share in my love of music. Because I have found that most "creatives" are fairly emotionally driven, I believe it is of the utmost importance to retain a sense of encouragement at every milestone no matter how small. I like to stay positive, helpful, and personal.
