Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

While I am firm about daily practice to improve, most every one I work with finds me easygoing and accommodating. I have worked as a therapist with children and their families but the role of teacher is a different relationship. I do require students have a working instrument to practice daily and regularly. Im a passionate musician who loves sharing the joy that music can bring with others. I began playing the piano in 2nd grade and have continued to grow for the past 22 years. For beginning or new students I like to begin with the Faber and Faber lesson books, although I am flexible to use whatever methods course works best for each individual student. Once a student has some beginner playing skills and theory basics, I like to encourage them to pick songs that they enjoy playing. I focus on a combination of classical, Disney, pop, and jazz. I encourage students to practice on a regular basis, write in their music (if necessary), ask for help (communication with what is and isn't working is key to success), and to work in a step by step system to learning music. The art form of music is both a cerebral and deepy visceral experience. And thus so I invite students to journey outward and inward to begin (or continue) studying music from both a scholastic perspective as well as treating the art form as a purely aural experience. My teaching studio enables students to take home recordings of themselves so they have an audible track record of their progress.
