I love teaching piano and teach theory, performance and do vocal and instrumental coaching as part of the accompaniment. I also teach beginning vocal lessons. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 10 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 2 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I like to start out with the Hannon Book. That has various excercises that helps with note recognition. Worksheets will be given out with those as well. Teaching students HOW to read notes, and HOW to recognize them takes a few weeks so that's normally what i like to start with. Once they grasp those fundimentals, then we move on to learning songs they are familiar with such as London Bridge, This Old Man, Mary Had A Little Lamb etc. Read More

I was a music education major, so I was trained to teach. Over the years I have taught piano and voice lessons privately and with contractors for over 9 years. I encourage students to practice consistently, and to also enjoy learning. I teach various styles and most of my experience is with beginners to intermediate students. Teaching for 12 years and playing for 18 years has really inspired me to cater to every age, and the student’s personal goals and their particular culture as there are no limitations to my style.
