I joined the touring progressive band Sirens on bass in February 2015, and am still currently playing with them. Shortly after joining Sirens we played the Indianapolis, IN date of The Vans Warped Tour. In October of 2015, I went on my first 50 date tour at the age of 19 with Sirens co-headlining with the instrumental band The Fine Constant. Sirens and I are currently endorsed by Ernie Ball and Music Man. After touring in 2015 I attended the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media where I studied contemporary and jazz music under Anthony East and Gary Wilkins. Read More

For any age, music teachers have to be firm but patient. Sometimes, it's hard to stay on track when doing something rote or outside your comfort zone, and I am very understanding of that (as someone who begged my mom to let me quit piano lessons as an elementary schooler). I began teaching piano and voice lessons in 1996 when I was a college student. I was trained to teach by the director of Studio 90 Music School in Massachusetts. I then went on to acquire my own students, and travelled around the greater Boston area teaching children and adults in their homes. I have also taught out of many local music stores. For young learners, I teach using Nancy and Randal Faber's Piano Adventures. For adults, I use the all-in-one Faber adult book. However, as early as possible, I like to get outside of the book and get a student learning a song they love. When it comes to learning piano (especially in the beginning), fun is a critical ingredient for success. In my lessons, I work with students through a lesson book, on repertoire they are interested outside the lesson book, on technique, music theory, and anything a student is interested in or curious about. Motivated by my deep love of music, I have devoted much time and effort in developing my skills as a musician. After embarking on a study of my first love, singing, I soon took on the challenge of learning and mastering the piano. After studying privately with fine Seattle area instructors, Linda Elder, Ruel Lubag, and publicly with Janet Hitt and Kristina Ploeger, all of whom pushed me to excel in technique and expression, I continue to pursue the goal of furthering my development as a musician.
