Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Maybe a student demonstrates an uncanny ability to articulate dynamics on the instrument, but they struggle to hit the right notes every time. Maybe they have perfect rhythm but they choose inefficient fingerings. Maybe the student can very quickly improvise their way back to the melody of a piece they are struggling to memorize. I am an instructor who is passionate and motivated about both music and teaching. While working on a degree in Psychology at Grand Valley State University in Michigan, I also studied music theory and other musical topics. I began playing bass guitar around 1978 and have played in bands, done session work and given music lessons in Michigan and the midwest ever since. For beginning students, I do like to start out with a beginning guitar book as well as some finger exercises that I have developed. After we get to a certain point I like to introduce my teaching method along with solo pieces for the student to work on.
