I am in my mid 30s and have been playing guitar and singing since the age of 13. I have gotten my education in music through private lessons. Advancing my education at both Milwaukee Area Technical College (Associates Degree in Music Occupations) and Carroll University (Bachelors Degree in Music Business). I do not own a music studio. As a member of an indie rock band, I understand the importance of being able to play songs on your instrument as quickly as possible! With this in mind, my lesson plan focuses primarily on breaking down songs that we want to learn how to play into their fundamental parts; the chords, the grooves, the fills, what-have-you, until we can put it all together. I started teaching in high-school. I taught guitar and drums from ages 7 to 55, from the absolute beginner to someone rekindling an old habit. I had the opportunity to use the lessons I was learning in college while I was still in college. I not only was a tutor, but I had some students outside of school. This helped my skills as a teacher improve quickly.
