Instruments: Piano, Saxophone, Flute, Bass Guitar

I started teaching two years ago at a private lesson studio in Denver called My Music Skool. My main focus was on piano and saxophone. Now I teach privately as a freelance musician. Two points I emphasize when teaching are practicing at least once a day no matter how long you play and learning what inspires you. There will always be some sort of theory I sneak in whether it's learning scales or building technical skills that will build confidence and ability, but if these devices aren't being applied to the type of music that inspires the student, then learning music becomes discouraging instead of fun. Instruments: Flute, Piccolo

For beginning flutists, I typically start with the Rubank Elementary Method so that they can have a basic grasp of the fundamentals. Beyond that, I introduce books according to their musical goals and needs. In addition, I have each student regularly work on solo literature so that they can put their hard work on fundamentals into practice. Read More

Instruments: Flute

As I have only taught flute to my granddaughter and helped my daughter with violin previously my rates are very reasonable. However my father was a music teacher who attended the New England conservatory of music and I learned a great deal from him. I have a very good knowledge of flute technique, interpretation, and repertoire and have played in bands, orchestras, flute choirs, and solo performing in churches and galleries. Read More
