I have 10+ years of professional performing and instructing experience. I have pupils who have received high marks in middle and high school MSBOA solo and ensemble competitions for clarinet and flute. My teaching experience dates back to my college days as I would frequently conduct flute sectionals for local middle schools.  I began teaching flute privately in 2008 after completing my Master of Music Degree.  I currently work with students and band programs in several counties in the metropolitan Atlanta area.  My students have been selected for both District Honor and All-State Band, as well as earned places at the University of Georgia middle and high school band clinics, received college scholarships, earned superior ratings at Solo and Ensemble festival, and often occupy the principal chair in their high school band programs. Piano Books: For the age under 5, I use Music for Little Mozart by Alfred. For the age 5 to 9, I use Prep Course by Alfred, Piano Adventure Pre primer lever. I have found students truly succeed by having a mixture of classical, spiritual, cultural, and popular music in their repertoire, and I have found that allowing students to know their strengths and weaknesses which are essential to know for a speedy developement of musicianship and musicality. This includes providing the student with a fingering chart as well as a beginner's book. For intermediate or advanced students, I typically assess their abilities before beginning with any lessons.
