For beginning students both children and adults, I typically start with Bruce Pearson's Standard of Excellence books. Once my younger students have progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I begin to introduce solo repertoire that is appropriate for their first recital performance. My teaching experience is, in all honesty, very minimal. I taught lessons for a short period of time during my days in high school and was an assistant band director at Greenbrier Middle School for my senior year in high school (2021-2022). However, I have very extensive experience in my ensembles and instrumental history. I was 9th chair of flute and 4th chair of flute in my district's honor band in my sophomore and senior year (junior year N/A due to covid pandemic), and was a member of the Greenbrier High School Symphonic Wind Ensemble for my upperclassman years.
