Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Through my academic study of music theory, history, and performance, I have been able to play with and learn from many accomplished musicians. In 2008 I graduated from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, and since then have written for, recorded with, and played in many different bands throughout the country. From Laurel Lee and the Escapees, an alternative country band in my hometown of Jacksonville, FL, to latin rock and salsa groups in Eugene, OR, my appreciation and desire to understand rhythms from different musical traditions is always growing. After completing his BA in Sound Design and Theatre for Youth at The Evergreen State College, Corey worked for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Ashland Childrens Theatre and ran his own puppetry company steppuP Puppets. He has also worked for The Helen Hayes Theatre Awards in Washington DC, Blue Sky Puppet Theatre in Maryland, and Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp in Steamboat Springs Colorado. Practice, of course, is important to learning any skill. But if a love of the instrument is there, practicing shouldn't be too much of a chore. I try to never give my students too much material at once, so as to frustrate them to the point of not wanting to play anymore. On the other hand, it is important to present them with challenges to keep them moving forward. First and foremost is to foster that love of music in them through enthusiasm and example. Read More

I began teaching about three years ago. I mostly have taught younger students, and I love to watch them learn and develop a passion for music. I like to look for fun ways to keep students motivated. I like to use lots of humor while I teach because I think learning should be fun, and music is an amazing art.
