My method of teaching is that I always start from the theoretical part of every instrument or skill I teach because if they don’t have the background understanding they will be limited in their performances. I motivate by telling them my story how I started with no instrument I used borrow a two octaves keyboard from a choir member just to learn the piano my self I had no internet and no money so if I was able to learn in that condition they can do better.I teach the secrets of becoming a professional musician or music producer which one of them is consistency. I have performed in marching band, percussion ensemble, big band, wind symphony and other various university ensembles. I have focused my playing through rigorous practice and pushing myself to play with great musicians. For beginning students, I use a couple of different method books including one of my own. I also focus on what rhythm really is and try to get the student to develop timing skills and reading skills too. I like to teach songs for several reasons, one being it teaches the student to develop certain skills and timing skills that are necessary for the student. For any lesson I prefer to have two drum kits, side by side, so that my student can see exactly what I'm doing (posture, form, etc). Though this is not the case most of the time, one kit is always fine. For beginning students I often start with snare drum technique, and depending on what the student knows already, basic kit beats.
