My approach is focused very much on performance, technicalities, and theory. I believe it is very important for the student to understand how these aspects of playing coincide with each other, and how they are equally essential to music playing. Before giving a student a piece of music to play, I will always play it befoehand and dissect the song into portions that I feel need special attention. I encourage playing with other musicians, and always try to teach the art ofimprovisation, so that the students can learn to play not only by themselves, but with other musicians, using the musicial understanding that it takes to improvise. I ask the students to set a goal at the beginning of each class that they want to succeed in for that days lesson. After that i give them the tools they need to become a success musician. I graduated from Rollins College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Percussion Performance in 2013.
