I began my first tour as a drummer when I was only 13 years old. Since then, I have gone on to tour with many bands. I am the writer and drummer for symphonic metal act Rapheumets Well. I can teach music theory, instrument blending, drumming, novice guitar, bass, as well as piano. I can teach the student how to play from building a deep principles in mechanics. I'm trying to put each student in touch with their inner creative. Everyone learns at a different pace and my approach is to teach something to mastery level rather than fill a quota. Inspiration and the joy of playing is first and foremost with my approach. My work as a teacher is to meet my students wherever they are in their journey and guide them to the next stage in their development. I focus on the student's preferred genre and songs, and I make theory work for those particular songs; i.e. I find common chord progressions, their related scales, and have students improvise using those scales [though I emphasize chord tones, syncopation and more ... equally, not just scales]). I am the epitome of patience, and I always seek to reassess a student's goals so as to hit the target as ideally on as possible (no sense in learning the complexity of jazz when punk rock is your only love!).
