I teach the basics using a combination of methods, customizing lessons to each student's skill level, ability level, and interest (classical/folk/modern). For beginning students I suggest using the Suzuki Method, or Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. I am an experienced music instructor dedicated to the success of my students, striving to impart to them the same passion that I have for music. In 2009, I graduated as valedictorian from Emmanuel College with a degree in Cello Performance and a minor in piano. My studies also focused on music theory, chamber music, and orchestra, as well as string and piano pedagogy. My teaching experience started at age 12 with Alesia Byrd Johnson. I worked with toddlers and as they aged I would continue in their classes while adding the next group of children. Since then I have taught private lessons in homes, studios, private schools, and after graduating from Michigan State University- I taught public school orchestra, band, and choir from Prek-12 in Michigan and then Georgia. I am an instructor that have great passion for teaching, and believes that everyone should have the chance to learn an instrument, no matter the age. I started playing the Violin in 2004, Viola in 2009 and Piano in 2011. I graduated with a Bachelor in Music Performance specializing in Violin in 2015 from Barry University in Miami Shores. During my time, I have performed and held performances with musicians from many different orchestras based in Atlanta and South Florida, including learning from members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and performances with the South Florida Symphony Orchestra. I like to supplement this with etudes, folk tunes, and something of personal interest to you (pop music, world music, video game, etc.) If you are more interested in a fiddle/bluegrass approach, I will start you on the O'Connor Method books for violin/viola.
