I have 31 years of experience both performing and teaching music professionally. I began playing and teaching while still in college and Never stopped. I have been teaching in the Upstate N.Y. area for over 10 years now. During your first lesson, we will work on learning chords, and how to read tablature. These include scales, chords, modes, picking patterns and even solos. Aside from fundamentals and exercises, my favorite method of teaching is asking a student what they want to learn, a song they enjoy for example, and doing my best to teach the student how to play it and why it works from a harmonic perspective. I try to approach each student as an individual. Every student has their own level of enthusiasm, patience, willingness, and availability. Learning music should always be fun and rewarding first and foremost. I believe in building a good teacher/student relationship and pushing my students beyond what they believe their limits are. Learning music is a never ending process. I want my students to be able to learn and grow outside of the lesson room. Read More
