I have been teaching music for over 18 years, primarily guitar. I have taught music for retail, private learning and performing arts centers. I have taught electric and acoustic guitar, bass, mandolin, music theory, sight reading, scales and modes, and improvisation. I have also taught all styles of music including rock, jazz, blues, country, and classical. I have taught students from the ages of 5 up to 80 years old. I taught myself through books, videos, mentors, loop pedals, HOURS and HOURS of practice, and 8+ years of live performance and improvisation throughout the 12+ years of being a guitarist. While I aim to help students become their best, I ultimately want them to have fun above all else. I believe progress looks different for everyone, and I am very patient and happy to go over something more than once. Learning an instrument is more of a marathon than a sprint in my eyes, and I hope to guide each student on their own musical path.
