Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For beginner students who are children, I typically start with theSuzuki Book 1 or Hal Leonard's Essential Elements depending on the students wants/needs. Throughout the lessonsI will coverbasictheory such as chords, scales, and other guitar/piano/drums/bass fundamentals neccesary to grow.For adults, I like to do a thorough interview to get a feel for what it is they want out guitar/bass/piano/drum lessons and from that develop a lesson plan based on the lessons i was taught by my music teacher in college. Students don't learn if they don't feel motivated or enjoy what they are doing. Therefore, I make it a point to set an agenda in each lesson that starts and ends with something fun, and is also predictable so that students know intuitively how to go about their practicing. During each lesson, the student and I set realistic goals for practicing and, despite the popular saying that the more time you spend practicing, the more effective your practice is, I have learned from many students that each student practices and learns from practicing in their own way. Later I formed the funk/soul band Bacon and as the bandleader I wrote much of the music, and managed the band. We recorded a self-titled EP and received a grant from the Durango Arts Center to produce the album.Currently I am performing in the country duo H and H music, the pop duo Spacecat, and a funk and Motown cover band.Ihave relocated to Denver from Durango CO and am blessed withall the opportunities that the City of Denver has to offer. Depending on experience level I like to get people making music as soon as possible. I know that trudging through the basics can be tiring. Of course some basics are neccesary but I like to make the basics sound as musical as possible. We will cover the fundamentals but we'll do so in such a way that it won't feel like so much work. I like to use books, depending on skill level, for reference but I have a very hands on approach and feel that the best work to be done together is the stuff that can't be found in the book.
