I began playing guitar around 2001 at 11-years-old with guidance and mentorship from my father, Randy M., who has played music professionally for the past 40+ years. At the age of 14, I earned a long-standing permanent spot alongside my fathers many established bands throughout junior high and high school, while living in Texas and after moving to Tennessee. I like to keep the mood lighthearted and fun while I am teaching, so that all students will feel comfortable and play to the best of their abilities. I do, however, believe in the importance of consistent and concentrated practice, and I will always tell a student if I feel that they are not putting enough work into their instrument. Because I know that people have busy schedules, I strive to teach students how to practice efficiently so that they can improve their playing even if they have limited time in the day in which to practice. I believe that the best way to learn music is to find ways to make practicing an instrument a fun and enjoyable endeavor.
