I have a very laidback, low-pressure approach - if you didn't practice, it's not the end of the world! I think back to my own days of taking lessons and remember how much more I improved in this type of environment, and how much more I loved the process. I've been teaching music lessons for about two years. I have worked privately with two students in the past for over a year. For beginners, either children or adults, I like to begin by teaching you to play an easy song that is recognizable so that you are excited and engaged in your instrument right away. Of course, we look forward to recitals and concerts, because they give our rehearsals direction, but it should also be emphasized that our most rewarding musical experiences may happen in lessons or private practice.
