Beginning piano students who are children will begin with the Faber and Faber lesson books which slowly progress the student through techinque and rhythmic exercises built into easy memorable songs. After building a strong base of fundementals I will the begin to introduce and teach songs the student wishes to learn alongside traditional literature to continue the technical progress. Instruments: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Synthesizer

My style of teaching is all built around assisting students in finding their own musical voice. I love using theory and technique as a means to unlock each student's full musical potential. Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Trumpet, Drums, Bass Guitar, Keyboard, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar

For just about any instrument, a key approach of mine is to teach students how to play the songs they love - and then the musical building blocks that make up said songs. Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin, Double Bass, Music, Keyboard, Electric Guitar, Classical Guitar, Acoustic Guitar

Always based on the student's individual needs and likes/dislikes. When teaching a lone student, one has to make a judgment call based on how this person learns, behaves, and interacts with music. For piano, I have used Hal Leonard books and John Thompson, and for the classical guitar, I have used Mel Bay and a couple of others. There is no guaranteed best method for every student - however, I will always use a combination of my best judgment for a student with something they are interested in. Read More

Instruments: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar

I've been teaching music lessons for about two years. I have worked privately with two students in the past for over a year. I believe one of the most important parts of teaching is to make it fun and encouraging. I emphasize the idea of seeing continuous progress on their instrument. This motivates students to set higher goals for themselves and achieve them giving them confidence and joy. I believe the student receives the most value when their instruction is effective and rapid in helping them attain their goals. Read More

It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
