Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I am a passionate and dedicated teacher who strives to provide a well structured and personalized lessons to my students. I am a graduate of Whittier College, Class of 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with an emphasis in Music Performance. My main instrument is Cello and my secondary instrument is Piano. The approach to the violin with the orthodox method can be particularly frustrating. The technique is important but equally important is to develop the ability and taste of playing together right away. For this reason, regardless of the styles you want to deepen, I play as much as possible together with the student whether it is classical duets, folk songs or jazz. For beginning students, young or older, I start my lesson by playing a piece for them on my violin. They can listen and observe how I play the violin and how it sounds to them. Then I show them how to hold bow and violin and feel comfortable with the instrument. After time, I gradually introduce music reading and usually use Applebaum's String Builder and Suzuki books. I always encourage listening to great historical violinists recordings to develop a sense of personality, style and tone in the students playing. Read More
