I understand that every student has different learning capabilities which is why I cater each lesson to each student's unique abilities. I work with each student at their own pace to learn and improve upon their skills as a musician. After the first couple of lessons, I will set goals with the student, and their parent (if the student is a child.) Being able to acknowledge that a goal has been met allows the student to have a desire to continue with the instrument they are learning. Passing goals and allows the student eager to learn. For beginning brass students, I typically work on developing on their embrasure and proper playing technique. Getting everything secure right at the beginning is the key to having players who are comfortable and will result in greater successful down the line. And to many of these shows we travel together with our young daughter :) (yes, my husband is also in the band). Other than the Trombone I do play the Trumpet as well, and I have over 8 years of Piano under my belt. I feel very confident teaching Trumpet up to advanced level, but only beginner level for Piano. I hold a Bachelors Degree from Yonsei University of Music in Seoul, Korea, and a Masters Degree from Brooklyn College of The City University of New York. As a soloist, she performed with Underwood Chamber Orchestra from 2004 to 2011at Carnegie Hall for a Mission Concert.
