Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I began teaching while working on my undergraduate degrees at CSU Northridge. I worked as an elementary school trumpet instructor. After graduating form CSUN I began teaching privately garnering much success with my students. For a time I worked as an orchestra conductor for the youth symphony west program running the advanced orchestra and intermediate string ensemble. In addition I worked as a general music teacher at Tesoro Del Valle Elementary School working on the basics of singing and reading. Read More

I am an experienced and passionate musician who teaches for the love of music, not for the love of competition. I hold degrees in music education and saxophone from the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater and humanities from California State at Dominguez Hills, as well as a number of year's study in saxophone and jazz improvisation and theory at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee. I have been published through Plank Road Publishing and Music K-8 Magazine and have performed at venues large and small, as well as theatres, festivals and clubs from the Midwest to Florida and ultimately to New Mexico. Music lessons can incorporate a variety of approaches depending on student preference and abilities. Some students love to read notation. I encourage these students to develop auditory skills through imitation games and improvisation. Other students play by ear and prefer to memorize all pieces. I encourage these students to learn to read notation and to look at the notes when playing familiar pieces. For young children, I create short musical tunes they can read using colors. Read More

I also teach private lessons at a local studio, and I can be found in Old Town on Wednesday and sometimes Saturday nights jamming with the Jazz musicians of this wonderful city. I have taught choir and band from the 5th grade level all the way up through high school including subjects like music theory, jazz band, treble choir, marching band, and percussion ensemble.
