Nicholas S

Instruments:

I recently graduated from Chadron State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Business with a minor in Legal Studies. I'm originally from the pan-handle of Nebraska and moved down to Lincoln just this year. I have family here and I hope to start a career in music, whether that be education or in performance. I've played trumpet for 13 years now and I hope to be able to pass on my knowledge of classical and jazz music to any students willing to learn.

More Information About Trumpet Lessons

A trumpet has several parts: the rim, the cup, the mouthpiece, the shank, the leadpipe, the valve pistons, and the valve casings. Make sure all the parts of the trumpet are in good condition, and make sure to ask an expert or a store employee to make sure. Prices for trumpets can vary so it is important to have a budget in mind for what you can spend. Many students will rent the instrument for some time before purchasing. When trying out trumpets, many students chose to bring their own mouthpiece, as this is the most personal part of the trumpet.
In home trumpet lessons are extremely convenient for parents and students alike. Studying in home is no different than studying in a studio. Lessons are generally once a week.
Each student will have a custom lesson plan created for them by their instructor. Our teachers will generally recommend specific method books that students can purchase for use in their lessons. Students will learn how to read music, how to sight read, musicianship skills, and the specific skills needed to play the trumpet and support the sound.
We have many adult students taking trumpet lessons. Learning this instrument is a great way for many adults to learn a new skill, and have fun in the process! In just a few lessons, our teachers can help you notice significant progress.
We suggest starting trumpet lessons at age 7 or 8. A student should be able to hold the instrument correctly, so their fingers must be large enough to do this. Playing trumpet also requires significant lung capacity, which can be difficult for a younger child.
