My approach to teaching is, while quite lax, all about efficiency. Whatever the issue may be, I will not communicate outright disappointment if the student is clearly struggling. Such would be highly counterproductive. My style of teaching seems to be very relaxed. I never force anything and I always want to give inspiration and motivation to the students. I get more pleasure and comfort knowing that this is something they want to do for themselves and not something I or their parents are forcing them to do. I think this also brings out the best playing and create motivation for the student. My style is very personal and decorated around the specific goals of the student. I utilize several lesson books that I have already purchased, however I also create pertinent lesson plans personally. Some are created right on the spot as we are in the lesson itself. I find that this gives the student a more specifically specialized guide for their direct needs surrounding any subject matter. My approach to learning an instruments is to have the students learn to play by ear first before they can start learning to read music. I find that most students are able to progress quickly because it frees them to focus on the playing the instruments rather than reading notes.
