My ultimate goal as teacher is to help my students develop artistic excellence. In order to achieve this, technical proficiency must be obtained on the instrument. To obtain this, our lessons will focus on proper breathing, holding the instrument, basic mouthpiece buzzing, and slide technique. My methodological procedures are determined solely on the level of the student and their performance ability. Oftentimes I tailor lessons that ive created in my past to create lesson plans for individual students. I oftentimes use action research methods in helping me determine whether or not the teaching method that is being used in the lesson is effective for the student receiving lessons. My teaching experience expands over 30 plus years. I begin teaching in Middle School as a Band Director, then a High School Band Director and back to Middle School. I went back to Middle School because, at that time I enjoyed teaching beginners more that advanced players. I have taught on the college level as the Choral Director as well as class piano teacher.
