Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music. It is so important that each individual student progresses at his or her own ace. I encourage this progress by setting realistic and clear goals for my students at each lesson. When I acknowledge their accomplishments, it helps to fuel the desire to learn of the student and makes them eager to learn more. My ultimate goal as teacher is to help my students develop artistic excellence. In order to achieve this, technical proficiency must be obtained on the instrument. To obtain this, our lessons will focus on proper breathing, holding the instrument, basic mouthpiece buzzing, and slide technique. The study of pitch and rhythm is also necessary in the development of artistry. Students will learn how to use a metronome and tuner to refine these areas while practicing. Read More

My methodological procedures are determined solely on the level of the student and their performance ability. Oftentimes I tailor lessons that ive created in my past to create lesson plans for individual students. I oftentimes use action research methods in helping me determine whether or not the teaching method that is being used in the lesson is effective for the student receiving lessons. For larger groups or smaller ensembles I create lessons around whatever the end goal is and/or the performance requirements. Read More

I've learn that the most important part of educating my students is to teach to their learning style and ability while giving them some strong encouragement and guidance. I first start with an assements of where the students skills are and their mindset. I try to findout what they want to due and what they like to due. Sometimes students dont truly know. My teaching experience expands over 30 plus years. I begin teaching in Middle School as a Band Director, then a High School Band Director and back to Middle School. I went back to Middle School because, at that time I enjoyed teaching beginners more that advanced players. I have taught on the college level as the Choral Director as well as class piano teacher.
