Music has been a significant part of my life since I was a child, and it's importance has grown as I've gotten older. I started, as many do, in the fifth grade when I started playing the saxophone which I continued on through high school. When I was 13 I started playing the electric guitar, and I would later switch to the classical guitar at 19. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a student grow as a musician and person overtime. Establishing a personal connection with them to create an environment of success is one that is always a concern of mine. Doing so will allow the student to soar to new heights and present a challenge for me to continue fostering their growth. They learn from me and I also learn from them. I have been teaching in a variety of capacities for ten years and am currently the assistant band director at Gateway Middle School and Maumee High School! While much of my involvement has been through different schools and band programs (marching/concert band), I have also taught private lessons and coached ensembles of various sizes!
