Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For children who are beginners, I start off with an introduction to basic theory. That will help me identify how fast they can catch on and also give me an idea of what ways to make lessons innovative. Also I will tie each lesson to a nursery rhyme so that it will be something they can remember. For teens and adults, I try to find out what genre of music or what is their favorite song. Read More

I have been involved in music lessons ever since second grade. I began with piano lessons, and then over the years have taken voice, trumpet, guitar, and french horn. I would also attend master classes for the vocal department at UNA. One thing I have learned in all of this is the statement that practice makes perfect is very true! For beginner students who are children, I usually use Faber and faber method series or the Alfred method series. All curriculum is based on age, so that it will help students learn at their own pace and level. Once the student gets to a certain point, I start adding in fun pieces that the child suggest, or might like, to add to what he or she is already learning. For an adult, or students around the age of twelve and up, I will use the adult versions of Faber and faber or Alfred. Read More

For younger students who are children, I usually start with Faber Piano Adventures. Once the student has worked in fundamentals and get a better understanding of the instrument, I will begin introducing solo repertoire appropriate for his or her level. I also like to working on scales and sight reading with my students, I spend some time at the beginning of the lesson helping them get a solid grasp on these two elements. Read More
