A technician is someone who is technically proficient on their instrument and works towards executing difficult techniques and passages. An artist is someone who makes creative choices via their instrument. After vocalizing, I begin working on the repertoire that I have assigned the prior week. I have been teaching on and off since 2016. People would ask me for spontaneous lessons and I would meet them either in their home. Most of my lessons were on vocals or piano. During this time I would also teach trombone lessons after school. My lessons are always energetic and entertaining. I always try to keep them engaged by setting an achievable goals for them for that lesson. If a student doesn't have milestones that they have reached, then it decreases engagement and motivation.
