Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. My goal is to allow students to pursue their musical interests while also making sure a solid foundation is being established in terms of the way music actually works (music theory) and what types of motions allow for efficient and safe production of sound (technique). Because I believe every student is unique, my teaching style depends on what is best for the student. Some students are kinesthetic learners who benefit most from using gesture, movement, and doing things hands-on, while others are aural learners who can pick music up by ear, but may struggle with reading music. This greatly influences how I go about planning and teaching lessons for each student. Their personality, interests, goals, and background experience also influence how I teach them. Read More

For beginners, I typically start with Mayon Cole's EZ Keys for younger children (age 4.5 to 5), and I use manehune (age 6) or level one (age 7-10) or above for elementary school age children. Once the student has progressed and gain confidence in sight reading and rhythm/counting, I will then supplement the curriculum with solo repertoires from other piano curriculum such as Fabor/Fabor or Alfred series (Little Mozart).
